Our Mission

Coal Creek Farms, Inc was created to preserve the heritage of the four generations of our family that live, work, and play on this land. We do this by using sustainable, organic farming methods, to produce the highest quality products while preserving the environment for ourselves and all of the other creatures that live on this land.

Pumpkins

Our first crop will be pumpkins. Our pumpkin patch near Emporia, Kansas will be ready for picking this fall, in October 2015!

Orchard & Nut Production

Our primary nut production will consist of Chestnuts, Walnuts, and Pecans. Our nut trees are in their early stages of growth so it will still be a couple of years before they are in full production. As we go forward we will have nuts for sale as well as having trees available for sale to people wanting to grow their own.

Farming & Greenhouses

2015 saw us plant our first farm to market crops. All of our crops are grown without the use of any chemicals. We use a highly enriched organic fertilizer on our land, but NEVER any animal or human waste material. Our first farm to market crop will consist of pumpkins and corn.

In 2016 we will be adding a number of greenhouses to the farm which will give us the ability to grow fresh vine ripened produce about 8 months out of the year. We anticipate growing a wide variety of produce which should be available by late April to Early May of 2016.

Nursery Trees

In concert with the development of our own nut trees we are also growing a wide variety of ornamental type trees. These include many types of Oak, Maple, Walnut, Sycamore, Chestnut, as well as several varieties of ornamental flowering trees. These trees will be available as container or ball and burlap trees from 2-5 years of age with heights of 10-12 feet.

Wildlife Habitat Development/ Food Plots

At Coal Creek we are committed to improving the natural habitat on our own farm for all types of wildlife. This includes planting Chestnut trees and food plots with proven materials to benefit the growth and development of all types of wildlife.

We have the ability to bring that expertise to your property to assist you in developing or enhancing your wildlife habitat. We can do anything from design assistance to complete turnkey installation of everything needed to attract or retain the wildlife on your land.
